Keyworker Allocations
At RefineStart each young person has an allocated key worker who works closely with the young person, Social Workers and other agencies in meeting their identified needs. Our experienced keyworkers ensure that our young people’s needs are met holistically. Our keyworkers also ensure that our young people are engaged in productive activities in line with their care and placement plans.
RefineStart keyworkers are trained to complete robust assessments. They are experienced in working in partnership with Social Workers in completing pathway plans, Child and Family Assessment and Risk Assessments for young people.
Our keyworkers also provide comprehensive weekly and monthly placement reports to Social Workers as and when required.
We encourage our keyworkers to provide Appropriate Adult services to our young people in Police custody as and when required and in consultation with Social Workers, if this is included in the placement package and following funding approval.
Young people are engaged in weekly keyworking sessions depending on young people’s needs and availability as part of the standard service package. This ensure that our young people have allocated keyworker to rely on for ongoing support and guidance to promote continuity of care and support.
We provide a standardised five (5) hours a week keyworking support to all our young people as part of the commissioning agreement. In the event that additional keyworking support is
Keyworker Relationships
We encourage all our young people to develop positive and trust relationship with staff at RefineStart. We also encourage our young people to relate well and to make new friends with other young people at the placement to enlarge their network of friendship.
We monitor our young people at the placement to ensure that they do not form negative associations at the placement. We aim at discouraging our young people from forming negative network of friendship.
At RefineStart, we try to resolve issues between young people through dialogue, having a placement meeting and liaising with Social Workers to discuss mediation support where necessary in the event that issues cannot be resolved amicably at the placement.
