Staffing at RefineStart include a dedicated team of experienced support worker and Social Workers who are genuinely motivated to make a deference in the lives of young people. All our staff are DBS checked. The staff team comprises of;.
The Director is the Chief Executive Officer of RefineStart and she has many years of experience in working with children and young people and their families. The Director is in charge of making day to day decisions about the organisation.
The Project Manager/Registered Manager has an NVQ Level 5 Leadership and the organisation in consultation with the Director and Management Team.
Our support workers have a NVQ’s in working with young people.
Our keyworkers work in partnership with Social Workers by being involved in meetings, contributing to formulating to young people’s care plans and being involved in the pathway planning process of young people placed at Pathfinders. Our keyworkers share information with Social Workers on regular basis and provides weekly and monthly reports are and when required.
RefineStart believe in promoting positive outcomes for young people. We ensure that we support young people to engage in some form of education, training, or employment. We devise education schemes and objectives for our young people in line with their pathway plans and objectives set at the PEP meeting. We assist young people to adhere to targets set at their PEP meetings. With young people who for one reason or the other are not able to engage in formal education, RefineStart work with Social Workers and Virtual Education Workers in identifying vocational training and apprenticeship schemes for those young people. We endure that we develop clear career pathways for our young people, we explore and incorporate their views about their educational objectives, we develop SMART educational plans for young people and for young people who require additional educational support; we work closely with Social Workers to explore funding opportunities for those young people needing help and for extra tuition funding for specific subject areas
We take part in young people’s LAC review meetings. We complete placement reports for Looked after Children (LAC) review meetings.
We engage our young people in regular key working sessions to discuss financial, practical, social and emotional issues with our young people and what support could be provided to our young people to thrive.
We develop semi independence living plan for all our young people with clear actions and timescales to avoid drift in their pathway planning and to ensure that young people are supported to develop their semi independence living skills for greater independence living.
